Facebook has donated $250,000 toward scholarships for students who are women and from underrepresented communities. Students will be joining Dev Bootcamp’s San Francisco program, a coding camp open to all California residents who identify as African-American, Hispanic, Native American, or Pacific Islander.
Tarlin Ray, VP of Business Development and Corporate Strategy said: “Facebook’s generous donation makes a real impact on Dev Bootcamp’s goal to achieve proportional representation the U.S. population with our student base of women and minorities.”
Here at Cashmere Agency, we are firm believers in doing something diversity-related. The 2016 Iowa Brown and Black Forum and even the GE AppFronts are prime examples on how we continue to create platforms catered toward the millennials that are people of color and women by connecting the new generation of business innovators. We look forward to hearing more about the program Facebook’s future initiatives.
